The particular focus of the conference will be interpersonal psychotherapy. The conference will focus on the changing face of interpersonal psychotherapy training and services in line with improving access to psychological therapies and practice guidelines. Parallel workshops will explore innovations and local developments in practice.

IPT Edinburgh Course early 2007
IPT Edinburgh will be running a five day introductory course on Interpersonal Psychotherapy early in 2007. The course will be held at the Scottish Health Service Centre, Crewe Road South, Edinburgh. Further details and application forms will be available on the IPT Edinburgh website (http://www.iptedinburgh.org.uk) or from Elizabeth.Shearer@lpct.scot.nhs.uk.This post qualification course is open to mental health professionals with previous experience in conducting psychotherapy and with an existing model of psychotherapy practice.

The meeting will be attached to the European Association of Psychotherapists conference but will be independent from this meeting. The provisional progamme includes presentations on group and individual IPT for in-patient groups, the long term effects of IPT and developing a national IPT network. The next IPT UK Network Meeting will be on Friday 13th May 2005 at the Express by Holiday Inn near the NEC, 2 miles from Birmingham Airport (5 mins in taxi).(* Tell taxi driver it is not the Airport Holiday Inn).
We will meet for business and then some presentation/discussion to be arranged, 10.00am -3.00pm. There will be tea and coffee on arrival and buffet at lunch, with tea/coffee in afternoon. Up to 25 places. Please confirm intention to attend and submit proposals for presentations to Julia Malecki, Eating Disorders Service Gloucestershire, Tel 01452 891206. Map and details to follow.
